Exchange Projects
Michigan-Columbia Exchange Project
The exchange project with Michigan Law School started in the summer term of 1992, and the one with Columbia Law School in the winter term of 1994. ICCLP has promoted each exchange project since then. As of academic year 2003, approximately fifty professors and associate professors have visited the Department from both law schools and they gave a series of lectures titled “Introduction to Anglo-American law”. Approximately thirty professors and associate professors from our Department have visited the two law schools and delivered lectures on Japanese law. This exchange project has been transferred to the School of Law, and continues as a part of its Transnational Law Program.
CEVIPOF Exchange Project
The exchange project with the Centre d’Étude de la Vie Politique Française (CEVIPOF) started in 2000. ICCLP has invited professors and researchers from CEVIPOF in order to promote academic exchanges between French scholars, our faculty members and students. In 2006, this project became a part of activities administered by the Endowed Chair in ‘Politics and Mass Media (Asahi Shimbun)’ of the University.
Seoul University Exchange Project
In 2002, ICCLP started a new exchange project with Seoul National University’s Department of Political Science, College of Social Studies. The program invites Seoul National University professors every other year. They have opportunities to deliver presentations at seminars and engage in fruitful discussions with our faculty members who share common research interests. In 2006, this project was also transferred to the Endowed Chair in ‘Politics and Mass Media (Asahi Shimbun)’.
